Main Ingredients
- Oreo Cookies (about 36 cookies)
- Cream Cheese (8 oz, softened)
- Mint Extract (1 tsp)
- White Chocolate Chips (12 oz)
Optional Ingredients
- Green Food Coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles or Crushed Oreos (optional for garnish)
- Crush the Oreos: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you don’t have a food processor, place them in a resealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until crushed evenly but not into dust.
- Combine with Cream Cheese and Mint: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, and mint extract. Stir with a spatula or mixer until smooth, uniform, and sticky enough to hold together when shaped.
- Shape the Mixture: Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, form the mixture into bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up before coating.
- Prepare the White Chocolate Coating: Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well each time until smooth and glossy. If using food coloring, stir it in now until evenly blended.
- Dip and Decorate: Use a fork or toothpick to dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, making sure it is fully coated. Place back on parchment paper and garnish with sprinkles or crushed Oreos while the coating is still wet.
- Set and Serve: Let the coated truffles set at room temperature or refrigerate them for faster results. Once firm, they are ready to enjoy!
Notes
- Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing and a smooth texture.
- Do not overpulse Oreos to retain some texture in truffles.
- Chill the dough before dipping to keep truffles firm and prevent coating from sliding off.
- Melt white chocolate slowly in short intervals to avoid burning.
- Store truffles refrigerated to maintain freshness and appearance.
