Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking and add a subtle flavor base.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until nicely browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Mix the Cheese Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth. Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until combined, forming a rich, cheesy sauce.
  4. Assemble the Bake: Place cooked chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the chicken. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  5. Bake and Finish: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese topping is bubbly and golden brown. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired before serving.
