Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 6 tostada shells (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water (for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer until thickened and flavorful.
  2. Warm the Tortillas and Tostadas: Gently warm large flour tortillas in a dry pan or microwave until pliable. Have your tostada shells ready for assembly.
  3. Assemble the Crunch Wrap: Start by layering seasoned beef in the center of the tortilla. Top with a tostada shell, then add shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and diced tomatoes. Fold the edges of the tortilla up and over the fillings, pleating as you go to create a tight wrap.
  4. Toast and Seal: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and carefully place the wrapped Crunch Wrap seam-side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently to seal and achieve a golden and crispy outer shell.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove from the pan, cut in half if desired, and serve immediately with your favorite sides or dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use warm tortillas to prevent cracking while folding your wrap.
  • Don’t overfill the wrap to make folding easier and avoid leaks.
  • Seal edges well to ensure no fillings escape while crisping.
  • Cook on medium heat to avoid burning the outside while melting the cheese inside.
  • Use a spatula to gently press the wrap as it cooks for even toasting.
