Ingredients

Scale

For the Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

For the Wraps

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 8 pickle slices
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the special sauce: Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a small bowl. Mix until smooth and refrigerate to let the flavors meld.
  2. Cook the beef patties: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form small, thin patties about the size of your tortilla. Cook them over medium-high heat on a skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through.
  3. Assemble the wraps: Warm the flour tortillas to make them pliable. Spread a generous layer of special sauce on each tortilla, then add shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickle slices, and cheese. Place two cooked beef patties on top and roll it up tightly.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Slice the wraps in half if desired, then serve immediately while the cheese is melty and the wrap is fresh and warm.

Notes

  • Choose freshly made sauce: Preparing the sauce ahead allows the flavors to blend deeply for authentic taste.
  • Don’t overcook patties: Keep patties juicy by cooking just until browned and no longer pink inside.
  • Warm the tortillas: Soft tortillas roll easier and won’t crack or tear during assembly.
  • Use crisp lettuce: Iceberg or romaine adds the perfect crunch and won’t wilt quickly.
  • Customize your cheese: Feel free to swap American cheese for cheddar or Swiss for a different flavor.
